High School Development Program (11u-14u)
The High School Development seeks to prepare young student athletes for high school baseball. The Cowboys are an all inclusive program aiming to teach beyond the lines and into the greater realm of life.
Our athletes endure a rigorous, detailed, innovative, and structured year-round program. Our nine month in-season weekly practice routine includes the following workouts:
- Individualized Defensive Workout – (Athletes are divided into small groups based on position, (catchers / middle infielders / corner infielders / outfielders) and instructed on the small nuances of each position, both physical and mental.)
- Batting Practice / Bullpen Session / Strength Training – (Each team has a separate batting practice session, where players rotate through various hitting stations, covering approach, situational hitting, swing mechanics, and bat speed training. Pitchers are pulled aside to work on pitching mechanics and pitch execution in a bullpen session. Players finish each workout with a hitting / throwing specific medicine ball routine)
- Team Field Practice (Each team goes through team field practice designed to get repetitions, build baseball IQ in base-running, fielding and hitting, as well as build team chemistry.)
We believe in rest and time away from competition in order to allow for our athletes to physically recover and enhance themselves. We have a three month down period, when our athletes do not throw and do not step on a field. During this time period our workouts consist of:
- Strength / Core / Agility / Arm Care Workouts: (Players rotate through various stations that work on different facets of the body. The workouts aim to decrease the risk of injury as well as increase performance)
- Hitting Development (Our offseason swing development puts a greater emphasis on major swing changes, if needed, as well as increase bat speed)
- Individual Meetings: (Each of our players has an individual meeting, parents included, with the coaching staff. It is a comprehensive review of the player’s strengths, weakness, and standing in the program.)
